In the study programs besides acquiring theoretical knowledge, students are developing practical skills in practice. The goal of the study practice is to acquire forms and methods of professional management and social work, paying special attention to work with individual family groups and communities, thus ensuring the development of skills, integration of knowledge, creation of attitudes, as well as improvement of professional competency. The practice is organized and managed by director of practice.

The practice is coordinated by practice coordinator. In the place the practice is managed by practice supervisor.

The study practice includes the study programs, according to Professional standards of HR manager ,social worker and specialists of social work, accepted by decision of Ministry of Education and science of Latvian Republic on June 6th, 2002 No.371, and normatives of Minister Cabinet No.171, November 27, 2001.

Field placements for student practices include:

• Riga City Council, Department of Wellfare
• Social agencies of Riga city and Riga Region
• Municipal social agencies in other cities and parishes of Latvia
• State Probation Agency
• Custody courts
• Social service centers
• Many international bussines companies
• etc
